This creates a situation where subcontractors may not receive any payment for their work until they have cleared their debts to the company, potentially leading to severe financial hardship.

Additionally, the contract imposes a 15% franchise fee and an additional 7.5% lead fee, totaling 22.5% in charges off the top of every job. Summer is over, we hear you! I don’t know if it’s just me, but summer seems to have gone by really fast and the backpacks and back-to-school lists came out of nowhere. I know in our household; it took a while to get the kids and the whole family on a new schedule. But now that it's all over, we can take a deep breath and take a few steps back and establish some good routines for the school year.

Organization is always a good idea to get any routine going. Do you have a mudroom or equivalent entrance to your home? Make sure your whole family is on board and understands what kind of system you’d like to maintain. In our home, we like to make a cubby system near the entrance so the kids can grab what they need while going out the door. If you don’t have such a space in your home, you can always establish this in your garage. In fact, this is ideal if you have older kids who are in sports because all that sports gear can get smelly. Another way is to consider a shoe rack in the garage, laundry room or even the front door area. It’s a great place for backpacks, homework and other things.

It’s pretty common knowledge that the kitchen and fridge area are our biggest pain points. Packing lunch boxes the night before can be a huge stress reliever the morning of. End The Stigma: Prioritize Your Mental Well-Being

As a cleaning company, we are constantly advocating for the importance of having a clean space. How often though, are we looking into the importance of our mental space? When I was asked to write about this particular blog topic, I’ll be honest, it took me a while to figure out where to start. Mental health is never an easy thing to talk about. Ironically, it is one of the most important conversations we should be having in American society. We are taught from a very early age that our mission is to aim for success, regardless of the toll that may play on us. If you can’t juggle working 40 hours a week, going to the gym, spending quality time with your children, making organic home-cooked meals and maintain healthy relationships with everyone around you, well, that just means you’re not working hard enough and you’re failing. Right? Wrong. Seeing it written out in plain text highlights how ridiculous of a notion this is. Yet, everyday we beat ourselves up for not meeting these standards quite how we’d like to.

More often than not, I find myself at an open buffet, stacking more metaphorical food on to my plate than I could possibly ever finish. The difference here is, real food gives you energy, an unrealistic work load gives you stress. For those that don’t know me, I’m a mother, wife, CEO of my own Photography business, Human Resources Manager at Green Tech, Co-owner of a Real Estate Group, and I write these fun blog posts. That is A LOT of hats for one head, in my opinion. This past week, I began to feel as if I was failing in every aspect of life. All though I was running as fast as I could, nothing was getting done to the extent I needed. This ultimately feels like failure, and your innate reaction might be “well, I need to push myself even harder”. What if what we actually need is the exact opposite? If I have one piece of advice to give, it’d be to put down that laptop, phone, or whatever it is that may be consuming your time and mental head space. At the pleading of my husband (my biggest support system), I took myself to Starbucks that day, and did something I haven’t done in a LONG time: nothing. And let me tell you, nothing felt great! What an amazing reset it was for me that day, and for the week to come. Best part is, it took 20 minutes, a cup of coffee and utter stillness in my life for that reminder to set in, that nothing is more important than you taking care of your sanity. I went home that day and finished all my work in about an hour. So next time you’re feeling overwhelmed and claustrophobic in the whirlwind that is your life, put yourself first and take a moment to eat your lunch in silence, or go to bed when you’re actually tired, not after binge watching ‘just one more episode’ of that show. I think it’s fair to say, many of us have trouble staying organized throughout the year. When it comes to pantries, I think we can all agree it’s a love hate relationship. To help you guys out, we’re going to give you a few pointers on how to start this organization task and it’s not even spring!

First, empty your pantry and thoroughly clean it out before you start any organization. It’s so much easier to toss expired foods, or things that are no longer needed. Start in sections if you have an extra big pantry!

Second, now that you’ve thrown out all that junk, it’ll be much easier to categorize the items that are left to organize. This is something I’ve started doing recently that honestly helps a lot more than I thought it would. Create an inventory list! Make a list of all your pantry items and update it frequently. If you have an Alexa, it’s a great way to digitally keep track so you can pull it up when you go grocery shopping.

This is also the perfect time to vacuum or sweep out any crumbs and foods that may be hiding on the floors. Our Green Tech Cleaning technicians will tell you, it’s the best way to avoid attracting ants or other pests.

Last, to keep things simple, place items that are similar together. I love having a section for my breads, pastas, snacks and baking essentials. To add a French flair, use wicker baskets to hold larger items! Très belle.

Here’s a bonus tip if you have young children: make a kid-friendly area. Who doesn’t want their children to exercise more independence? In our house, we’re trying to encourage our kids to grab their own snacks, and not yell mom 100 times a day. We filled a bottom shelf with snacks, plates and kid friendly utensils. Visibility and accessibility are key to this concept, because it will help them keep up in this area!

I think at some point or another, we all attempt to create a version of ourselves that is tidier and cleaner, especially for new years resolutions. And honestly, it probably doesn’t last too long. Studies have proven that humans are not so successful when it comes to prioritizing long-term goals over instant gratification, and let’s face it, cleaning is probably the last thing anyone wants to do.

In just a short amount of time the blow from the Corona Virus has tanked the world's economy and the entire public school system. None of us would have ever imagined that in 2020 all schools would be closed for the remainder of the school year? Big and small companies alike have been forced to close their doors to help fight against the spread of COVID-19; entire Hospital systems are in disarray due to an enormous demand for medical supplies. Car manufacturing companies such as General Motors and Ford have been tasked with manufacturing equipment to help mass produce ventilators and other essential equipment to help protect and save lives.

Prisons have started letting inmates out early to prevent a crisis from commencing after a few tested positive with the virus.

There is a proposed 2 trillion dollar bail-out package just in this country to provide temporary assistance to those affected by COVID-19.

As an expert in the Cleaning industry the objective is to provide the best recommendations as it relates to how often Commercial establishments should have their facilities disinfected and sanitized, to prevent the spread of deadly viruses.

When it comes to combating against things we can't see, it is imperative to have measures in place as a way to prevent the unknown from appearing. This must be done in the most efficient way possible.

Cleaning and Disinfecting establishments is essential in protecting the public at large. While there are stay at home orders in place, please understand Cleaning Companies are working tirelessly to bring you a better tomorrow!

Larger Companies and establishments such as Walmart, Amazon, Malls, Hospitals, Airports Restaurants, and Train Station should have level 2 sanitation cleanings done to include touch-points being hit daily, in some cases twice daily.

Smaller entities such as gas stations, mom and pop stores, eateries, insurance companies, etc.. should have professionals come at least 3 times per week to provide disinfecting and Sanitizing Services.

This virus is spreading very rapidly so as long as establishments are open and serving the general public certain measures need to be in place in order to prevent further wide-spread outbreaks. Commercial Disinfectant and Sanitizing Services

In the wake of the Corona Virus pandemic, we will be offering Commercial Disinfectant Cleaning and Sanitizing Services (C.D.C.S.)

We will be focusing on Disinfecting and Sanitizing all TOUCH points to eliminate the spread of viruses, germs and bacteria.The use of medical-grade germicide products that are safe and biodegradable will be used in order to ensure the highest standard of clean. We will introduce fogger systems that will help kill airborne and surface bacteria.

To properly clean our commercial establishments we follow a three-point cleaning system.

The first step would be to disinfect all hard surfaces with the use of Medical Grade cleaners that kill 99.99% of all viruses, germs and bacteria.

The second step would be to wipe down surfaces to remove residual chemical build up.This will be done with medical standard microfiber clothes.

*We allow the recommended GreenTech Standard of 10 minutes dwell time before wiping down surfaces.

The third step would be to spray down all surfaces with a sanitizing solution. This is done after the cleaning to ensure an even more sterile environment, which also provides our Commercial Customers with a peace of mind when services are completed. This step is done with a fogger to maximize coverage.

When providing these services all technicians will be required to wear the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure proper safety.

PPE includes:

Gloves
Face mask/ respirators (as needed)
Disposable protective coveralls (as needed)
Safety glasses (as needed)

SDS sheets will also be provided for all chemicals that we use so that everyone can be aware of the products being used as a preventative measure to ensure the safety of everyone.

Replace any burnt-out light bulbs

Bedrooms

Dust & clean all surfaces, including dresser, bedside table, headboard, computer screen, & television
Dust all appliances & knick-knacks, including lamps, ceiling fans, & blinds
Wash & change linens
Sweep/mop or vacuum floors, including underneath the bed
Remove trash; clean & sanitize trash can
Clean & polish windows & window sills
Replace any burnt-out light bulbs

Bathrooms

Clean & sanitize all surfaces, including counter tops, sink, & faucets
Clean & sanitize the toilet
Clean & polish the mirror
Wash & change towels
Replenish amenities, including soap, shampoo & conditioner
Sweep & mop the floor
Remove trash; clean & sanitize trash can
Clean & polish windows & window sills
Replace any burnt-out light bulbs

LAUNDRY AREA (if applicable)

Make sure the washer & dryer are empty
Remove lint from the dryer
Replenish amenities, including laundry detergent & softener sheets
Sweep/mop or vacuum floors
Remove trash; clean & sanitize trash can
Replace any burnt-out light bulbs
EXTERIORS
Wipe down & clean patio furniture including chairs, tables & BBQ
Sweep entrances & deck
Replace any burnt-out light bulbs

Cleanliness

Ensure the property has been thoroughly cleaned
See that the dishwasher has been unloaded, all dishes are clean & in the correct spot
Check that bed linens have been replaced & beds have been made
Look for any items that may be missing or out of place
Make sure all garbage has been removed from the property

Functionality

Check that all appliances (refrigerator, coffee maker, etc.) are functioning
Check that all electronics (TV, radio, WiFi router) are functioning
Test all lights & replace any burnt-out light bulbs
Check that smoke alarms are functioning
Ensure that all faucets are functioning & that the hot water works
COMFORT
Set the thermostats to a comfortable temperature
Verify that all supplies have been replenished
Place welcome book where guests will see it

Security

Make sure all owner valuables are secured in a safe place
See that keys are in their correct location for the next guest
If the home has keyless entry, set the code & test it to confirm that it works
